FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is Gallery Wrap?
A. Gallery wrap is the manner in which your canvas is printed and then stretched over the wooden frame so that the sides of your painting are finished rather than raw canvas and your print extends over the sides of the frame. If you choose no Gallery Wrap, the face of your canvas will be printed, while the sides would be left white.
Q. What is the best type of photo to submit?
A. It is dependent on the size of canvas you want made. The higher the resolution and image size, the larger the canvas we can make. We suggest you submit images that are of a high resolution, 300 dpi (dots per inch) is ideal, although we may be able to work with less.
Q. What about a snapshot?
A. We can easily work with your snapshot images. Just mail us your photograph in a hard backed envelope for protection and we will scan your image for use on canvas.
Q. Will I get my photograph back?
A. We archive your digital photographs and scanned images for up to 2 years after your order was placed. If you sent us a snapshot, we will send it back with your order.
Q. I am unsure about the quality/size of my digital image. What can I do?
A. Just upload your image using our contact form and we will let you know if the image is suitable for canvas creation.
Q. Can I use a professional image?
A. Yes, however it is the responsibility of the customer to obtain necessary permission from the owner/photographer prior to ordering.
Q. Can I give input on the artistic technique used for my canvas?
A. Yes, of course! The more information we have from you, our customer, the more we can customize your print just for you. Please feel free to send us notes, drawings/diagrams or other photos for more information. Alternatively, you can simply let our artists "go nuts" and come up with what they think looks most suitable for your photograph. If you choose any artistic technique to be applied to your canvas, we will send you a low resolution proof by e-mail for art approval prior to production to make sure you are completely satisfied with your design.
Q. Can you make larger canvases or a custom size?
A. Your wish is our command. Just call or e-mail us for a custom quote.
Q. Do you suggest framing the finished canvas?
A. There is nothing wrong with framing the canvas, however, if you do so you will be losing the Gallery Wrap look. We suggest not getting a Gallery Wrap if you plan on framing your canvas.
Q. How should I care for my Candid Canvas creation?
A. Once it is mounted, you should care for it like you would any other canvas print. Do not place canvas in direct sunlight as this may cause eventual fading. Do not clean with water, spray cleaner, or any other liquids. Use a soft duster or dry cloth to wipe canvas gently instead.
Q. Do you ship internationally?
A. Yes, we can ship your order anywhere. Please call us for more information on your specific location.
